Cool! According to Cheryl Morgan over at Emerald City
, VELLUM is on the short list for the Crawford Award. Better still, it's up there with some really neat stuff including SPOTTED LILY, the first novel of one of my current favourite writers, Anna Tambour, whose short story collection, MONTERRA'S DELICIOSA I'm absolutely loving at the moment, relishing each tale for a literary taste as unique and exquisite as the bletted medlars of "Valley of the Sugars of Salt". At some point I have to get round to blogging about just how much I love her approach to the natural world, plants and animals alike, how it gives her work a really quite distinctive quality, fabulous in every way. And if you're not reading Anna's blog
, btw, you bloody well should be -- "Adventures of discovering the ellemehnopee", the latest entry is... well, just go and read it... on you go... shoo!
Anyway... just wanted to say: hoorah! I'm doubly chuffed!
